Katie Walsh is a 2019 Peabody Award and multiple Emmy Award-winning director. Her work has been featured on ABC, Disney+, NBC Sports, ESPN, The Golf Channel, The Katie Couric Show, Discovery Channel, MTV, the IFC and across a variety of multimedia platforms.
Katie directed the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage for the 2018 ESPY Awards. The film honored the courage and conviction of the sister survivors who spoke publicly during the Larry Nassar trial. It was awarded the 2019 Peabody Award for outstanding storytelling.
Katie’s short film, Surfing to Cope, premiered at the 2018 Newport Beach Film Festival, followed by an international festival tour and won the PSFF audience award.
Whether she’s profiling an Olympic athlete or a cancer survivor, Katie captures her subject’s authentic spirit and brings their personal journey to the screen through creative storytelling and her detailed interview style.
Currently Katie is working on a 8-part documentary series for Disney+ called The Marvel Hero Project.
